Multiples NZ National Training Forum 2019

 

 

Forum Purpose: To strengthen Clubs, Club Committees and Club Volunteers so that they can better support our families in their local communities.

Audience: Club Committee members/Volunteers

Date: Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2019

Timing: Saturday 9.30 am – 4.45 pm Gala Dinner 7pm
               Sunday   10am – 4.30pm

Venue: Brentwood Hotel, Kilbirnie, Wellington (venue of the 2018 National Training Forum)

 

Cost: $350 - This includes the cost of the workshop material for both days, meals (including the Gala Dinner on Saturday and a hot breakfast on Sunday morning), and shared accommodation for the Saturday evening (you can pay extra to have your own room).

Roles and Responsibilities

What does governance look like for an organisation that is 100% volunteer run? Building on last year’s sessions, we take a closer look at the role of the committee. What are we ultimately responsible for in leading our Multiples clubs? How do we ensure we fulfil our governance role effectively? What does that mean in practice?

Sustainable Volunteering – growing great volunteer teams

This facilitated workshop explores practical ideas and strategies and will generate resources that you can implement in your Club to support member and volunteer growth.

  • How to encourage more of your members to help out and to stay for the long term.
  • Ensuring a good fit - how do you recruit the right people, for the right role, in the right way?
  • Getting volunteer ready – what things do you need in place before you start recruiting? (Role descriptions, Induction process)
  • Developing a team culture. (Appreciation, Recognition, Feedback)
  • How do you actively plan for succession within your committee?

The Biggest Impact

Of all the challenges we might (or might not) have as a network, which are the one or two that if solved, would make the biggest impact to our organisations?

Of all the ideas suggested, what are the ones that are worth exploring some
more? Are there any ideas that could be easily implemented tomorrow? Where does the consensus lie?

Working in small break out groups, we will explore some key topics together. Bring your ideas and be prepared to share your knowledge, ideas and experience here.

Finding solutions together, sharing knowledge and best practice around certain topic areas. Problem solving together. Empowering club volunteers to work collaboratively to solve problems.
